Oh for the love of vintage (my first mood board!)
Posted by Kristin on Monday, November 12, 2012.
I've never done a mood board before but I love looking at others. I know that Pinterest is a tremendous mood board, but I wanted to create my own to share...not just pins. So here it is...
Gretchen Hirsch from Gertie's New Blog for Better Sewing. It is her writing and creations that made me believe I could create wonderful garments as well.
A vintage turquoise phone from Etsy. I can't believe how far communication has come!
"Paris is always a good idea"...I've always wanted to go to Paris!
Pretty in Pink circa the 1950s (source)
Vintage inspired teal wedding dress (LOVE!) from Love my Dress.
This painting exudes vintage with the colors. From Victoria's Vintage.
Beautiful golden gown from Moda.
Audrey Hepburn, the epitome of class.

Very nice. I think you should make me the one in the lower left corner! Oh, and I'll need a corset for that dress too :)

Great board. Oh how I like that vintage look. Wish I had the figure to wear it.

That one is my favorite as well...and Gertie had a whole section of posts on making corsets! But I don't plan on creating corsets...seems way to dangerous for me to be handling steel boning!

What I love about the vintage dresses is that they look fabulous on just about any figure. I've got some extra pounds on me (well, more than some) but I am still having a 50's style cocktail dress made to wear to my sister's wedding. I can't wait until it arrives! I may look like a large, light blue bus in it but I don't care because it will twirl :)
